Advertising on Google TV Explained

Now you can buy National Cable television time on Google TV but do you know what your are getting? While it is more confusing than clear, this article should provide some helpful information about the topic. When advertising on Google TV, the many cable channels/networks can be divided up into one of three categories – National, Satellite and Local.

National - these are spots you would buy from Google network partners like CNBC, Chiller, CBS College Sports, Hallmark Network, the Bloomberg Network and more. These commercials would air on Local Cable providers such as Comcast, Time Warner,  etc. as well as Satellite companies (Dish & DirecTV). Your commercial here would not be covered up by cable companies that sell local air time (add insertion).

Satellite - your commercials here would air on Satellite providers such as DirecTV and Dish Network but would be covered up by local cable providers as this is the inventory that they run their own promotional spots and sell to local advertisers.

Local – your Google commercial would air only on Dish Network which represents just over 14 million of the 115 million television homes or 12% of the TV homes in the US.
